Porters Boutique Hotel, Havelock North
The five-star Porters Boutique Hotel, Havelock North's newest hotel, officially opened on December 1, 2016. The hotel, which aimed to fill a "gap in the market" for top-end travellers arriving in Hawke's Bay. The hotel is owned by the families of two prominent Hawke's Bay businessmen – property developer David Mackersey and Lowe Corporation Managing Director Andy Lowe.

Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit
Lowe Corporation managing director Andy Lowe became a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to conservation, in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours List. He was honoured for being the driving force in the establishment of the Cape Sanctuary at Cape Kidnappers and for striving for a predator-free New Zealand.

Hastings Tannery Site Expansion
Lowe Corporation expanded its Hastings hide-processing plant to allow for a 25 per cent increase in hides for the next season. In the previous 18 months about 50 new jobs had been created by the company in Hawke’s Bay and Lowe Corporation planned to continue this with a $5million investment during the next two years.

Fairfax Media New Zealand Business Hall of Fame
Lowe Corporation founder Graeme Lowe was one of six laureates inducted into the Fairfax Media New Zealand Business Hall of Fame. The Fairfax Media New Zealand Business Hall of Fame was established in 1994 by Young Enterprise Trust. Each year, six individuals who have contributed to New Zealand's economic and social development are recognised for their business successes but also the way they have given back to the community.

Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter
Lowe Corporation’s sponsorship of The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter Service was renewed in February 2012. Graeme Lowe's legacy, which began in 1992, was set to continue with the confirmation by his son, Andy Lowe, that the Lowe Corporation support of the Service would continue.
