Pickled Lamb Pelts
![]() |
New Zealand lamb pelts are generally finished for the production of fashion garments offering consistent area yields, tightness, flatness and fullness yet maintaining a soft handle. Following slaughter, skins are cooled under controlled conditions for transportation to one of our processing sites. Skins are washed on arrival before being machine fleshed to remove excess fat and flesh. This process not only assists the penetration of chemicals to enhance the performance of subsequent processes but also improves pelt flatness which is demanded by our customers. After the wool is removed the slats are placed in vessels and processed through to pickle pelts. The pickle pelts are graded and packed for distribution to customers or prepared for further processing.
